Black Screen

If I start NWN1 (EE) in full screen mode, I get a black screen. The game is obviously running, but I don’t see nothing. It makes no difference if I use F9 from the toolset or start from desktop. Changing the resolution of the game has no effect.

Solution: Switching to Windows mode (alt-return) forth and back. But this sucks!

Maybe it has something to do with the intel on-board graphics?

Is this a known issue? Any pointers to solve the problem welcome!

No, I have the same issue on both my home computer (Intel Arc a750) and my office computer (nVidia 1080Ti.) I just use windowed mode.

This bug does not occur for me in 1.69 or previous versions. I suspect it has to do with all this shader mess theyre doing to add cartoon filters and whatnot.

Thanks for answering. Seemingly your environments are completely different, so it’s probably no hardware issue.

I wonder what the opening screens have to do with shaders&caroon filters?

However, maybe somebody else has an idea where to look at.

If you can try resetting your settings, by renaming the Neverwinter Nights folder in your documents, and see if that fixes the issue once you set your settings to full screen.

Er, I didn’t mean to delete that post, if it was me who did that o-O

Thanks. Good idea. But the blackscrren is still there. I hear the videos running, but see nothing.

Can’t seem to undelete it fully, oh well!

@Mmat can you log it as a bug here if you can, with the settings.tml in the folder zipped and attached; GitHub - Beamdog/nwn-issues: Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Technical Bug Tracker also include what hardware you’re running (GPU primarily) and drivers (make sure they’re up to date).

If you can try the latest stable (35-40) and the development version (36-11) and compare as well, not sure which version you are on.
