I’m working on GUI mod that I would like to post on the vault soon. The thing is I’m reworking (also adding my own stuff) somebody’s else projects that I would like to combine into one downloadable file. Can I do this?

tl;dr if the original project is marked “Free and Open” yes.
notes off the top of my head:
- if you haven’t changed files in the original download, best not offer it again (redundant).
- if your derivative work requires changes/integration with the original, ok-ish (depends on how much integration is really required)
- in a clear and obvious place at the top of your derivative work show the original author’s name, mod/add-on, and preferably a link to the original download page
This is in point of fact what OpenSource is about … imo … credit, respect, improvements/extensibility.

That’s what I did. Make it very clear which is the original and which is your modified work.
