I was wondering if any Custom content modeler would be willing to do a cloak emblem substitution, thereby creating a new available cloak model. I know the cloak I wish to use (current Talona model) and have the emblem I wish put in place. If so, please PM me for more details.
TBH honest Iāve tried those templates and havenāt been able to get them to work properly, but that could just be me. The templates dimensions seem to be a bit on the small side especially compared to the emblems I wanted to use but then again these templates are now nearing 20 years old.
FWIW, I wanted to use these -
and
but theyāre all larger than the templates.
Anyway, enough of me whinging. If you can get the templates to work for you, great. If not I do hope someone can help.
Hello TR, thanks for the reply. I am looking for something specific. I play at Thay and the Underdark, and we are starting a new Guild of Slavery, and I wanted a faction item with a set of chains on the back; see attached image. Sadly modeling is never one of the skills I acquired.
All of our guilds use a cloak as a faction item, but there is nothing that is not either A) already claimed or B) religious in nature.
Iāll double check though and see if there is something there that in Lisaās links that might work.
Suggest searching another image up, that one might be tough to work with (I was able to find something similar with a search of slave chain fwiw). Ideally something you like on a transparent background and not a ton of detail.
You need to know the number of the cloak used on that server. You need the plt for that cloak and its inventory icon, cloakmodels.2da (for testing), and an acceptable number for your new cloak to take (you also need the models if its not a base game one). You need something that can deal with plt texture files (i.e. the GIMP plugin).
After that, erase the āiconā on the cloak layers that have it, prob one or two of the colors, and replace with yours. Export with the number provided.
Lisa makes that a bit easier in that her templates use photoshop psd format files which the gimp can work with. Each layer is named too. It may be a roundabout way of doing it but you could work in psd and then export in plt.
Depends on the shape of the shield. For a simple medium size shield (same shape as the vanilla ones) take a look at my kit of parts TRās Custom Shield Designs. Just have a play even if youāre not intending to use that system. Full instructions included. A simple round shield shouldnāt be that difficult either. Totally depends on what you want and if you can handle adding a new texture (canāt be too difficult, I did it and I have all the artistic flair of a brick).
The pltās can be exported with NWN Explorer into 9 tgaās. The Problem is to bundle them together into the plt after the change. If there is only gimp ā¦ then Iām a bit reluctant.
Thank you very much for the process, Iāll see what I can do! And looking up transparent slave chains is a great suggestion. However, since the RP on that server is based around slave collars as opposed to say manacles, as soon as I put the word ācollarā into my search parameters, I get some ahem interesting results.
PLT has always been annoying/tedious/whatever. For example BillHarper said he uses PS, and spelled out a bit of workflow, but I forget the part where/how he converts to plt.
MerricksDad's PLT Tools | The Neverwinter Vault is a step in the right direction. If we could weight-paint a texture and reverse the disassembly process here, think that would make creation/editing way easier

i recently discovered merricksdadās plt tools, mentioned above. itās a real time-saver for me (i donāt use gimp). my process:
