Companion Voice Files (.wav)

Hello!

I have a question that might seem kind of stupid, so please be kind and patient (like you’re explaining something to your tech-illiterate grandma, perhaps).

I’d like to download some of the SOZ companion audio files to use in another game (Icewind Dale, to be precise), and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to find the necessary .wav files. I’ve managed to find SSF files for some of the companions but I have no idea what to do with them - I downloaded an SSF editor, but fiddling around with that hasn’t really produced any results. I also found a 2da file to download on this site that supposedly could be used to provide the companion voices in character creation, but again, I’m clueless and don’t know if I can use it to extract the .wav files.

Maybe the answer is blindingly obvious, or it will be end up being too complicated and I should give up, but I’d really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance!

Well, this is embarrassing. Literally minutes after posting this (and after spending days previously searching online for clues), I just found some voice files - in the data folder, VO_X2. However, it seems these don’t have the actual voice sets used in battle, death, etc. It just has the VO for additional dialogue. Any ideas?

They’re in the sounds, sounds_X1 and sounds_X2 zip files. But maybe not clearly named…

Yes, I think I found them. They’re vs_co_charactername etc. Thank you so much!
