Custom Content Challenge - December 2020

To anyone interested, I’ve decided to launch a revival of the Custom Content challenge with a start date of December 1, 2020. The challenge will end on December 31, 2020.

Given that its that holiday time of year, I’ve been thinking it only fitting that the first theme be Holiday related. But lets not confine ourselves to just one Holiday - lets do ALL the Holidays! I’m thinking Christmas, walking talking Easter Bunnies, Pilgrims, Undead Roasted Turkeys. Let’s go nuts!

See Custom Content Challenge 2020 - Rules, Guidelines, etc for further details.

Immediately before @TheAmethystDragon disappeared I had volunteered to take over this myself on condition I got two pieces of information. The first was access to the email address that submissions were sent to and the second was the current list of suggested ccc topics. Sadly I received neither of these. So, if you don’t mind, in order to avoid this situation from happening again I have a couple of suggestions. The first is post the ccc suggestion list as an article on here and the second to make sure that the information needed to access submitted content is held by more than one person (preferably 3 including @niv if they are happy to hold it).

That’s a great idea - how do I turn it into an article?

Front page of this site - Contribute/Article. Alternatively you could put each idea into a spreadsheet and post that as a project like I have done with the ccc catalogue.

Do we return to CCC polls like https://neverwintervault.org/content/your-choice-march-2019-ccc-theme
Glad to see the CCC resurrected

Yes, polls will start on December 1 for the January Challenge.

December challenge is Holidays. But lets not confine ourselves to just one Holiday - lets do ALL the Holidays! I’m thinking Christmas, walking talking Easter Bunnies, Pilgrims, Undead Roasted Turkeys. Let’s go nuts!

Pagan winterfest theme maybe?

Sure - anything. Lets see how festive we can get.

Samhain, the King-killing holiday! Strangled, throat slashed, and drowned in wine! Celtic celebrations to make your neighbors and random people on the internet uncomfortable… <3

Holidays? You want Holidays? Try this list of ancient roman holidays. There’s over 100 of them.

Geesh, that’s a lot of holidays. Amazing they ever got anything done :stuck_out_tongue:

Great link! UNRV.com is such a wonderful resource…

So, it is now the 4th of December 2020, is anyone making anything for this?

I’m leaning toward a Gingerbread House of some sort.

Suddenly, horrifyingly, PHoD appears… and, as usual, is viewed in much the same way as a large dorsal fin appearing off Amity Island…
Hm… I don’t do festive…
But, I s’pose I could poke about at some twisted, ancient occult festivities, something leaning toward Beltane, Walpurgis Nacht, see if anything springs to mind… Not promising anything though, busy-ish. But I’d like to show support for a return of the CCC since I’ve had so much fun with it in the past - and at times it’s prompted me to actually get started on a few projects that I’d had sitting around for far too long…

That’s actually a pretty cool idea! Are you thinking big, like a real house?

Yeah full size - and maybe a festively dressed witch to go along.

I’m going to give Grinch a try. Did some rough tries to see, if I can manage to come up with something usable. I didn’t want to use an exsisting model, but create one from scratch! The first time, that I do a body model from scratch. So here are my first steps so far:

OK, OK! It’s still super low poly and rough. But I managed the arm and the fingers (yes, still too small), so I hope, that the rest might work out as well. The texture is a sloppy test approach. I’d like to go for a mixture of JIm Carry and the animation version, so it’s maybe usable (if at all) outside of a Xmas story.
And I still have to find a creature, which I can us for a skeleton to rig it to. Any ideas?
