Custom Content Challenge: February 2019: Mirror, mirror on the wall

The theme for this month's challenge: "Mirror, mirror on the wall":

Mirror, mirror on the wall: A call for mirrors and other interior decor items. Both the mystical magical type of mirror and the mundane...From funhouse mirror mazes to elegant elven couches... this is a very open theme. I would request though that we try to supply items that don't already have alot of coverage already, such as barrels, for example. Instead, a ladies jewelry box or a table with a half completed sewing project.

This theme was suggested by Jenna WSI.

  • It must be fully working in game.
  • Use of vanilla NWN or publicly available texture is fine.  Just remember that NWN textures must have dimensions in powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc.).
  • Teamwork is welcome.
  • Beginners most welcome. Don't be afraid, just try, you'll be surprised!
  • "Custom Content" includes many sorts of things: models, scripts, prefabs (areas, items, creatures, conversations, quests, etc.), sounds, portraits, or anything else new for the game.
  • All submissions must be finished, working, and emailed to (or a non-Vault link provided) by March 1st, 2019. Sooner than that is perfectly fine too. ;-)

Some things you could include in the download/email that would make packaging everything up easier and faster:

  • 2da lines needed.
  • Screenshot from in game for use on the Vault page. Formats: .bmp, .jpg, .png, or .tga
  • Portraits (if needed) of your new goodie. Placeables and monsters should include a portrait.
  • Inventory icons (if needed) of your new goodie.
  • Any credits you would like listed.
  • If this is your first entry, please tell me what name you would like your work listed under and provide a link to your other NWN content if you want that displayed as well (the link bit is totally optional).

Remember, the Challenge is all about fun, sharing, creativity, and surprise!

This thread is for all sorts of discussion about this month's theme: ideas for things to make, questions/concerns, announcement of what you intend to make, screenshots of work in progress and/or finished projects.

If you want to discuss the Monthly Custom Content Challenge idea as a whole or wish to submit ideas/themes for future monthly Challenges, please post in its thread here.

When submitting a new theme, please provide a title and short summary of the theme.

If you have a technical question about some custom content creation, please create a separate thread so that the answers can be found later by anyone, not just people interested in this Challenge.

We'll try to help!

Have no fear and join the fun!

And finally, you can:

Mirrors, eh? How cool would it be for there to be a “Hall of Mirrors” tileset?

A sarcastic talking mirror could be amusing. Step close and get roasted.

I kinda already have something similar to a smack talking mirror but a Back-talking gargoyle statue. Its based on a onpercieved event script that runs random one-liners whenever a pc is seen

Cat statues not integrated part of mirror.

Source images used:

Does anyone have ideas for improving the reflexive surface? ATM it’s mostly flat white.

Now has the same kind of non-reflective shiny surface that the default mirrors have.

For a long time I think to make a wall mirror positionable, with the place to accommodate an invisible PNG associated with a trigger, which changes appearance by copying that of the PC that passes in front

So many fancy mirrors. If only there was somebody fancy enough to fully enjoy these things…
… meet Gianni…

He is flamboyant, feisty, and fabulous!
Made from my modified elf male body + some cc head + the fancy OC wing sword + human scale height + afa (the female) animations.
Give him the “human, male, gigolo, seductive” voice set and you have the perfect npc for places that have lots of mirrors and pretty things.

… also will pack him up with some mirror weapons and some mirrory things (inventory icons with models and placeables).
I did not make the deadline for the December cc because, holidays, so ill try to wrap this up early this month… enjoy

I was going to suggest perhaps a Plane of Mirrors for this theme however after looking into it… its not really anything unique. The Plane of Mirrors is nothing more than a gateway to other doorways, which is fairly intresting but it doesnt have anything robust (fauna, life, creatures, monsters, npcs, etc)

Link to the Wiki:

Although i did find this picture of the plane to be creepy and kind of cool (in a metal sorta way)

So old timey mirrors are made from pretty sturdy materials. Even the shiny part is made of some kind of polished metal, so it would make a pretty nifty blunt weapon everyone can use… behold the MIRROR CLUB
have epic fights with your old timey stylists because of creative differences.

^ Also useful for battling medusae and so forth.

Exactly rjshae. Also to complete the ensemble…

took me awhile to make that mirror from scratch so I’m going to milk it for any doodad I can make out of it
so far: Mirror club, Mirror Buckler, and a Hood with a blank face you can set to mirrory shine
it is also an inventory icon with model and a placeable.
That’s it for now I’m crawling back inside my hole before the page warns me for spamming or something.

Ok, I may have gone overboard, but I am pleasantly surprised by the mirror club, so I tweaked it some more and made 4 colors available. Also I made the parts and inventory icons compatible with original content club parts and icons so you can make some pretty interesting combinations…

I also loved the display cases I found in the CEP but could not stand the errant pivot enlarging the bounding box and the 1.5-ish degree misalignment so I tried to correct it.
Ended up recreating the whole thing and they multiplied like rabbits, So I dumped a whole bunch of my stuff inside them, so now I have about a dozen of them with random things inside.

They are not very mirrory however, so I will save them for a different ccc.

They seem pretty mirror-like to me…

Its funny @Proleric should comment, since I made most of them to replace the displays in Mistress Eberta’s museum at the Koberg Temple university college, along with a bunch of Enigma specific customs like these…

those are statues and inventory icon models for tanja and asmodeus

Wow! Way better than anything in vanilla Enigma Island!

Obviously, I really hope you publish them all, one way or another…

…though it’s a little scary that you understand the Enigma Mundi deities better than I do myself
