Custom Content Challenge - July 2021 : Dark Fantasy

Dark Fantasy
I think that this challenge would greatly benefit some dark fantasy modules or PWs. Things inside should be Ogre queens, necrophiliac princes, torture devices (like white hot iron shoes), monsters, dwarves, curses, eating abilities, items like livers and heart (Cooked and uncooked), cannibalism, magic items (mirrors, apples, glass coffins), plants, undead, ravenous animals, diseases, gruesome deaths, executions (gory, gruesome and twisted), twisted and mad people, gods wrath, witches, demons, devils and dark pacts. Oh I nearly forgotten about rape and self mutilation.

Suggested by @Shadowing2029

Guidelines:

  • It must be fully working in game.
  • Use of vanilla NWN or publicly available texture is fine. Just remember that NWN textures must have dimensions in powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc.).
  • Teamwork is welcome.
  • Beginners most welcome. Don’t be afraid, just try, you’ll be surprised!
  • “Custom Content” includes many sorts of things: models, scripts, prefabs (areas, items, creatures, conversations, quests, etc.), sounds, portraits, or anything else new for the game.
  • All submissions must be finished, working, and emailed to nwvaultccchallenge@gmail.com (or a non-Vault link provided) by August 1st, 2021. Sooner than that is perfectly fine too.

Some things you could include in the download/email that would make packaging everything up easier and faster:

  • 2da lines needed.
  • Screenshot from in game for use on the Vault page. Formats: .bmp, .jpg, .png, or .tga
  • Portraits (if needed) of your new goodie. Placeables and monsters should include a portrait.
  • Inventory icons (if needed) of your new goodie.
  • Any credits you would like listed.
  • If this is your first entry, please tell me what name you would like your work listed under and provide a link to your other NWN content if you want that displayed as well (the link bit is totally optional).

Remember, the Challenge is all about fun, sharing, creativity, and surprise!

This thread is for all sorts of discussion about this month’s theme: ideas for things to make, questions/concerns, announcement of what you intend to make, screenshots of work in progress and/or finished projects.

When submitting a new theme, please provide a title and short summary of the theme.

If you have a technical question about some custom content creation, please create a separate thread so that the answers can be found later by anyone, not just people interested in this Challenge.

We’ll try to help!

Have no fear and join the fun!

And finally, you can:

Submit theme suggestions .
Vote for August’s theme.
Email content to: nwvaultccchallenge@gmail.com

Nearly a third of the month gone and no takers so far. If you need inspiration how about this Daily Deviation on DeviantArt. FWIW the title is in Slovenian and means “Feed the Graves”. Also, if you read through the comments the artist details the back story behind the picture.

Based on Useable Bonds created by Elvendur with Lisa’s Scaly Skin (for the strech marks) and some body parts by others (I will give full credit in my submission). What I have done is assemble the various CC and scaled it.

Suitable for use as a punishment for gluttony (see the motion picture Seven) OR for someone who enjoys feeding women (with or without consent; see the motion picture Feed).

For a Dark Fairytale perspective, the consequence of stealing the witch’s food.

Just to clarify - the like is for the work. It most definitely is not my fantasy :smile_cat:.

 You prefer milk chocolate to 92% cacao dark chocolate? :smiling_imp:

You did ask for Dark fantasy and I have an obligation to live up to my name. . .!

I would like to apologize in advance,
but I read “dark fantasy” and “ogre queens” so this is currently happening…

WARNING! pixel nudity… (Too late. I dont know how to censor, sorry)

Ogurl01

The skin texture will be changed. Will have more hair and probably have clothes
If anybody has any strong objections to its existence, speak now

That image has set off an internal battle between 2 Queen songs -

Ogre Battle (Live At The Rainbow, 74) and
Fat Bottomed Girls

Of course a mash-up of those two would give us - Fat Bottomed Ogre Girls Battle… which may be why I have that reaction to that image :smile_cat:

I like my ogre women with beards.

All kidding aside, looking good. As for covering the boobies, I don’t see modesty being much of a concern for ogres.

Thinking about the term Dark Fantasy I figure a cursed creature has to fall within the definition. I also remembered an ancient 1e ADnD module - L1 The Secret of Bone Hill. Deep in the depths you come across this unique creature -

… and a skeleton chained to the back wall. The skeleton is animated but incapable of breaking its bonds.

The skeleton is the remains of a lawful good 15th level magic-user who once came to this ruin to do baffle with the evil creatures within. His attempt, though valiant, was not successful, and he is now kept here, imprisoned, not wholly alive yet not wholly dead, and this torture has gnawed at his spirit for centuries. Like the skelter, his skeleton has a tongue and eyes. He also shares the immunities of the skelter but a detect evil or know alignment will show that he is not evil and is, in fact, lawful good. If he is destroyed he will simply reform in 24 hours, even if his bones are powdered.

He cannot initiate speech but can answer questions if a speak with dead spell is employed. He will only roll his eyes and move his head to normal speech. He will volunteer no information and his answers will always be very brief. To a proper question he can say that he “wants release”, “freedom”, “peace”, etc., that is, he wants to cease his undying state and have eternal peace. This can be done via remove curse or an exorcism. If this is done the person casting the spell will receive a limited wish from the magic-user’s deity at once. The person granted the wish may not consult with anyone, for the statement to name the wish will be placed directly in the recipient’s head via telepathy. The character must respond at once. Note that the magic-user knows nothing of the current ruin conditions and therefore questions along that line are doomed to failure.

So basically a skeleton but with eyes in its sockets and a long, lolling tongue. Shouldn’t be too hard for a skilled model maker (which I am not). But what’s that you say? What’s a Skelter? Well -

Skelter: (AC: 6, MV 12", HD 2 + 2, hp 16, #AT 1, D 1-10). The skelter, like the zombire, is the animated remains of a once very evil low-level magic-user. It is immune to the same attack forms as listed for the zombire and can cast the following first level spells: shield, sleep. It can be turned as per wights and has 42 gp.

So basically a skeleton that moves at double speed with (apparently) eyes and a tongue, that casts a couple of spells. OK, so what’s a Zombire -

Zombire: (AC: 5, MV 12", HD 3 + 3, hp 18,#AT 1, D 2-12). The zombire is not slow like a zombie but might pretend to be so in order to deceive the party while approaching. A zombire is immune to hold, charm, sleep, and cold based spells, in addition to poison. It can be turned as per wraiths. In addition, the zombire, the animated corpse of a low-level magic-user, can cast the following spells - First level: magic missile, protection from good. It carries 20 pp and a potion of fire resistance.

Ah, basically a Zombie that moves at double speed and that casts a couple of spells.

So anyone interested in making the goofy looking Skeletons? If blue prints are also provided remember the stats above are for 1st edition so will need adjusting for 3e.

TR

TR that skeleton sounds nice, I’ll see what I can do.

Ogurls Update: ( Q ogre for comparison, its the base I used)

  • can use wings and tails (yay for quivers and butterfly wings)
  • can dual wield
  • narrower shoulders, wider hips
  • shorter snout
  • five fingered hands
  • colors: ice-white, drow-black, classic green, swamp brown, human-ish skin

I’ll see if I can butcher a Q elk and turn its head into an ogre queen hat

This would actually be easy to hobble together from one of Cervantes’ Q pirates (skeleton with eyeballs) and the Morhg (tongue).

this is great stuff ! just an idea – those tits are really… ‘out there’, aren’t they ? i mean… ‘*ba-da-BOOM!’ i wonder how they’d look if they were saggy, as they are on most [human] aborigines ; if that’d be more ‘in character’ ?
[ NOTE - this is not a criticism ! just an observation ! it’s marvelous work. ]

Man and I thought I made those pirate skeletons for Q, but I did use sixes pirate clothes. Good luck and look forward to your skelter Pstemarie.

My bad - that’s what I get for being old. But, no I’m not making a skelter or anything else. I have my own project I’m working on atm. I was merely making a suggestion for anyone else who wants to make the critter @Tarot_Redhand was describing.

No problem Paul, and know what you mean age is catching up to me as well. Since you aren’t going to throw something together quick thought I might, here is a WIP look.
