Deity reference does not seem to work on EE

I am playing Kunoichi and I notice that the Deity reference in the conversations do not appear to work with EE. In 1.69 the name specified as the Deity appears in the conversations as intended.

Does anyone know whether this is a known issue in EE or could this be something else?

What does it say? UNRECOGNIZED TOKEN instead?

@Fester_Pot, it shows up as a blank. My name is . instead of my name is Deity.
