Email Verification

I keep trying to change my email address, but the verification email never gets sent, regardless of how many times I may ask for it to be resent. I know the email address is valid, I get all of my other mail there. What gives?

Could be your provider has considered it spam.

Nope. That’s not it. Already thought of that

Many providers won’t put it in your junk, they’ll just delete it.

Never heard of that one. But, perhaps we can try to think of something else besides my email provider being at fault. Are there any that you are aware of that actually delete these emails automatically? As I Said, I’ve never heard of that before.

WHM/cPanel hosts that have spam that exceeds a certain spamassassin value will delete it. This is the case for my own setup for instance.

WHM/cPanel also uses a feature called “greylisting” by default. This is NOT recommended - many providers will not make the second request it asks for and this will result in mail that is not delivered.

Without access to the MTA, it is difficult to diagnose. However you can rule out many common problems with using the test tools on MXtoolbox: https://mxtoolbox.com/

I get every other email from every other location, including any kind of verification email for changing to a new email address. Has to be something else.

Does anybody else out there have any help for me? Perhaps a moderator?

It’s above my pay grade, but I put a call out to the admins.

Niv is aware of the e-mail issue with the host blocking them. I have no eta on when it will be resolved.

FP!

Not sure if this counts as a necro, but I am having the exact same problem.
