As someone of Irish descent (among others), I have a Love/Hate relationship with the holiday. Sigh Oh well.

As another (partially) Irish descended type, I’d just like to take this opportunity to assure everyone that I have NEVER painted myself green and vomited in the street… Well, actually I HAVE painted myself green but it had nothing to do with St. Patrick or being half Irish and at no time was vomit involved - unless it was one of the ingredients of the body paint, about which I still have significant suspicions…
Also, I am directly in favour of the reintroduction of Snakes to Ireland, preferably starting with Eunectes murinus… that’d soon sort those feckin’ ejit donkeys out.

As one who is also more than 50% Irish thus the moniker Greenman.
May all of you have the luck of the Irish. Just not this Irishman’s or it will not be quite what you were expecting.
