Help with a tileset?

I’m playing with a custom tileset, and I’ve observed some odd behavior with it. Does anyone know what causes this, and perhaps how to fix it?

Oh, and the tileset is this one: Project Q Crypt reskin and roof | The Neverwinter Vault

And, I use the one with the roof.

So, the area I’d like help with is… I see a textured face on one side of an element, but when I turn the camera around, it’s invisible. I’d like it so that it’s visible from both directions.

The wall (on top of the door archway), from one direction:

The wall, when the camera is turned. It becomes invisible.

Oh, and just two more pics to illustrate the problem:

I wonder is “keyholing” on in your game menu? Just a thought that it somehow might be interfering with drawing it?

Hi, keyholing is on in my game. But, I don’t think that’s related to the problem. It seems like the texture isn’t applied on one side of the mesh or something. But, I really have no idea how to go about fixing it.

Transparent walls on tilesets with high walls/ceiling are a general problem. This is not fixed easily. It requires to add meshes on the rear side of the wall.

Live with it.

Oh right. I’ll leave it there then. Maybe in the future I’ll have a go at playing with 3D meshes. Or not.

Oh, by the way, I did solve this problem. It took a bit, but I added meshes on the backsides of the arches.

Do you think this is worth uploading here, maybe as a modification of the original upload? I’ve assembled all the files here, but only for one of the folders that was included in that archive.

Oh, and I would provide a pic of what I’ve done, but… I’ve lost the way to post pics. I don’t know how.

Edit: I uploaded the wrong one, but it’s corrected now. If you sort the files by timestamp, it’s easy to see which ones I modified, and the files are taken from that upload I pointed to in the first post.

Jep, adding meshes on the backside is the (tedious) solution.

How’s about some previous/after screenshots?

I used a lot of copy/paste, so it wasn’t too bad.

I’m not sure how to post pics on here anymore. I’m not sure how I posted those pics in the first post. But, I can give you links for pics. A gallery.

And, I only just discovered that there’s an issue with one of the walking meshes. So, I’ll have to correct that before I upload the files again.

Just drag-and-drop your image into the reply box in a supported format e.g. png, jpg…

Cool. I’ll remember that.

So, what do we do with these files, Proleric? I’ve mostly just modified some of the files in the original archive, and those themselves come from project q.

But, I think they’re a pretty good addition, and I’m not sure anyone has done what I’ve just done with them (unless they have).

Here’s a copy of the perfected files. I had to fix a walk mesh issue that I think was even included in the original archive. I haven’t checked all the tiles, but I guess they’re all in working order. So… put a link to the original upload, and then offer them as an addition?

If you post the corrected file as a project, we could add that as a Related Project on the original page, so that everyone can easily find it.
