Is hosting a server on Linux substantially different from hosting on Windows? Are there any special procedures to go through, and will it affect scripts any?
NWN or NWN:EE?
Someone correct me if I’m mistaken, but I believe the bug with “whirlwind” attacks still exists if you use Linux (or MAC) to host. Other than that, Linux is generally the more efficient and up to date method to use. This is only if hosting NWN. Not sure about NWN:EE.
Beyond that, it all depends on what you are doing. If you just want to host your own or even premade modules for a small group, then whichever you are more comfortable with is the best choice between Windows and Linux.
If you are creating a PW, then what if any features of NWNX2 would you be using?
If you are creating a PW with NWN, are you considering converting it to NWN:EE down the road?
