The placeables.2da is already using a range of lines. I have a hak I want to add to my game, and that has a placeables.2da using same lines.
I don’t really find anything conclusive on how to do this when I search.
But… can I just copy the lines from the new one and fit them in somewhere in my existing .2da, in redo the line numbers?
Example, the new 2da lines are 3001 to 3028
I’m already using those lines. So I take the new 2da lines 3001 to 3028 and insert them in my 2da at lines 4001 to 4028.
That will be OK?
When I paste the copied lines of one .2da in to the other .2da (both open from Notepad), the Tabs seem wrong relative to the other lines from the 2da.
Ugh, that was tedious… typing in the 30+ rows myself.
There has to be a better way to merge a pair of 2das!
I have an existing placeables.2da
so… I have to open that 2da in the toolset
hand type all the lines from the placeables 2da that comes with the content
save (don’t laugh, but first time - I didn’t save, just closed the 2da… which of course tosses all that typing)
Then go to override and take that 2da and put in my 2da hak.
Please tell me I’m doing this all wrong and there’s some other way to do this?
Alternatively, you could have used notepad++ to copy the lines over and then used column mode (nearly at the bottom of the edit menu) in the same program to renumber your lines.
