Bit more, it looks SOOO much better animated in game than in screenshots. The effect blurs things making it hard to get a clean screen cap.
Think I am ready to move on to rigging now
Went for a likeness, really tough to do with this game engine’s FoV and lighting. Anyone able to guess who?
Clue:
Celeb who plays DnD.
He’s in there yes
The only person I’d ever heard of in that list was Vin Diesel, but not knowing anything about “celebrities” has to be a life bonus so I’m quite pleased about that.
lol, yeah, I can agree with that whole heartedly. I could care less about celebrities personal lives, all I care about is; do they suit the role they are playing in the movie I am watching. I do however follow DnD and this guy was in a youtube video about it so, yeah, unintentional knowledge
He is pretty much done now, just playing with the hair. I decided to keep the modeled/textured in hair rather than make him bald. The hair is comming out better than I thought it would so don’t want to remove it now.
OK, I so I have decided to release him as what I began making him for. Originally this was going to be my take on Casavir, I went another direction and tried to make a similar looking version to the fan art and the original. I will release this as an alternate, reimagined version for those that prefer it (as I do).
I used all the tricks I have figured out so far to get him looking as good as I could in game.
And done, now to get it packaged up and uploaded.
I will upload him as both Casavir and a standalone NPC head for module builders. Fully rigged, all my models are, and I will include a tint map for the NPC version (N_HHM_Headxx).
I will upload my previous version as an optional download for those that like something closer to the original look. I wasn’t happy with it and won’t be working with the original models again, it’s like putting lipstick on a pig, no matter how much work you put into it, it’s still a pig underneath.
Model uploaded to the nexus and vault as Casavir. I have made the old Casavir version available separately for anyone who wants/prefers it. The old one was an experiment to see how much I could improve the original game model, a failed one as far as I am concerned.
The first Half Elf male and a hair for him done:
And yes, I am procrastinating on the female half orcs… I am finding them so tedious to make for some reason.
Back to the Half Orc females now that I have had a bit of a break from them. Should be ready for a release fairly soon now.
Uploaded to the vault and nexus. Mod name “Armor Retexture Mod”.
Just a very quick retexture job to fix the horrendous fighter armor. It was making my eyes hurt. Still took about 8 hours to do all the different textures for all the armor parts. Trying to identify what parts belong to what armor based on the textures alone is tedious. I was sure there was an asset browser for this game, something that shows all the armors and what textures etc they use? Or am I thinking of another game?
Fixed the female Gnome armor, it had a broken model with clipping faces. Funny how it only became noticeable with a new texture.
@Xaltar - I have a humble request. I was impressed with how you updated the textures of the fighter armor. I know you’ve got your hands full, so I totally understand if you don’t want to do this, but I thought it couldn’t hurt to ask. In The Complete Beldin Collection there’s a modified version of Torio’s robe that I really like called Silk Dress, but the textures are so low res that it almost hurt my eyes to look at. Would it be possible to update the textures on that or is that maybe way too much work?
