TLDR: RESOLUTION: Kukris require MARTIAL FEAT to equip!
Does anyone have any idea why this NPC is not equipping two Kukris?
Even if I have them equipped at the start (show equipped in the toolset), they are unequipped by the time I meet them.
Class set as Rogue (Shadow Dancer) Dual wielding kukri.
They are the only weapons they have and if entering combat, they still only use fists.
The items are identified, and I tried just equipping via a conversation script and not even one equipped.

Perhaps they’re a pacifist?
More seriously I might be wrong but I think kukris need Exotic Weapon Proficiency.

If you check out the creature properties, they do have this already.
After doing some more checks, I think the NPC template is just broken, as I have another creature next to them with the same conversation tests and combat tests and they work fine.
I have no idea why this NPC refuses to arm weapons - maybe your “pacifist” comment regarding them is not so far removed from the truth.
-IA related stuff, it unequip them.
-Feat Related stuff, you reset the NPC and it looses the Exotic feat. Exotic feat is the only thing you need.

Ah, I missed that, but you are correct, nevermind me then
Might be right about the pacifist comment indeed it seems though!

I will use some debug to see if the creature lost its feat somehow with AI then … back in a bit.
No, that does not appear to be the problem, as both the original and the now (broken) new NPC has the feat according to debug …
The new NPC was working until I applied the Reset From Package button …
NB: It says “EQUIPPING”, but fails to do so.
UPDATE: OK, I started testing again, and now I think it relates to the weapon itself, as the old “broken” NPC will equip a weapon if it is NOT a kukri. (I had made a mistake in my previous testing by changing both the class and weapon at the same time for a test, and I has made the error of assuming it was due to the class change and not the weapon change.)
Two short swords will equip but NOT even one Kukri will!
UPDATE: I upped the fighter level for one of the “broken” creatures and reset the package with the fighter class, and the Kukris DID EQUIP OK. So, this worked …
UPDATE: OK, after updating the original NPC with a single FIGHTER class, they now equip the Kukris fine. (I used the Reset From Package of the Fighter level to do this.)
FINAL UPDATE: OK, So after I added the FIGHTER level and then reset from the Shadow Dancer package, the Kukris are now equipped OK.
TLDR: Kukris require MARTIAL FEAT to equip!
Kukris are NOT exotic weapons. Nor are they rogue specific weapons. They are martial weapons. If you give that character martial weapon proficiency, I’m betting the issue will be resolved.

Ah! That may be why adding the Fighter class appeared to fix it … I will check this straight away.
Thanks Travis.
YEP! That was it!
KUKRI require MARTIAL and NOT EXOTIC! Good call @ Travus!
