At the moment all the moderators on here are NwN users. There isn’t a single NwN 2 user. Due to this it can occur that things that should be moderated go unchallenged for longer than they should. This is because NwN people quite naturally gravitate to all things NwN as opposed to NwN 2 things. We would dearly like to remedy this.
What we are proposing is that the users of the NwN 2 forums nominate other NwN 2 forum users that you trust to become moderators. Obviously if you are nominated you would be free to decline. Before you do so however I would point out that it will take up very little of your time.
So what does being a moderator involve? Mostly no different to what you probably already do. Just read the posts in the forums and the projects. The only differences are that if you see something untoward in the forums, you raise a flag on it. After that the flagged thing will be discussed by the moderators (including you should you become a moderator and wish to participate) and whatever action is deemed necessary will be taken. With projects it is slightly different. You would create a post for the other moderators with a link to the offending item. After that, it will follow the same route as untoward forum posts. And that’s mostly it.
So what do you get for being a moderator? No money obviously. A nifty little shield next to your user-name and access to a moderator only communication channel. Plus you gain the ability to do a few other things (that I won’t go into here) that are designed to help with the smooth running of this site.
We could probably do with 2 or 3 new moderators but will take what we can get at the moment.
