NwN2 GOG version crash when joining server

I am using GoG version of the game. When I try joining any sort of multiplayer game (both through the list or direct connect by IP) game crashes.

Crash log says following:
Error occurred at 8/6/2022 18:48:58.

Everything updated
No viruses found
sfc /scannow - no integrity violatons found

Does anyone know if there is a way to fix that issue without reinstalling Windows?

I have never ever played any multi player when it comes to NWN1 or NWN2, as it doesn’t interest me in the slightest, but on the NWN2 Discord channel almost everyone seems to be into that stuff. So maybe join us there and check with them?

Alas, couldn’t ask them since noticed a few people as members out there whom I absolutely don’t want to bump into ( world is so small -sigh-).

Reinstalled windows this morning, but issue still persists.

Decided to try get my CD version on this computer (will have to make an .iso or something, my laptop hath no CD drive) and see if issue persists. If it will not be would mean GoG messed up somehow.

Alright, I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve only had friendly encounters there…I’m not that active in discussing things most of the time though (and there’s a lot of server/multi player discussions), but it’s an excellent place to have a chat one on one with certain creators. (easier than the PM system here) A few have made custom heads and animations and whatnot for me there that I’m very grateful for. There’s also been things posted there (armors and outfits mainly) that I have not encountered anywhere else.

I know. It’s just a few particular people I happen to have crossed my paths with in the past. I might be back when I am ready.

I found the problem source though: my computer’s name was written in Japanese characters. I renamed it into roman characters and problem went away.
