I jump between campaigns in NWN2 using the GA load mod script (I just make all areas campaigns so they can be multi area/mod accessible for a sandbox, mmo like playstyle). I have recently played the excellent Trial and Terror campaign and would like to incorporate it by having it launch when an area is entered in one of my existing mods (like it’s part of that mod!). Is there a launch campaign script? If not, other ideas?
So you already jump between campaigns but you still want to know if there’s a launch campaign script? I’m a bit confused by this. As far as I know you can’t jump between different campaigns, but maybe it can be done. Only someone like @kevL_s could answer something like that, I believe.
I use a script by kevL_s in my current module where I export the PC and companions between modules in the same campaign, but that seems like you already know how to do so…
yeh i dont think a different Campaign can be loaded. Only a different Module within an already loaded Campaign …
Usually one simply exports the PC, maybe sets some campaign variables, and then the onus is on the user to start the “next” campaign from the NwN2 start game screen.
but i mean, if you really want, I suppose that the modules that are in Campaign2 could be added to those in Campaign1 … so effectively you’re playing just one and the same campaign …
but it seems to me that that could go wonky pretty fast, since the 2 campaigns could easily have different design philosophies/ subsystems/ usage of variables/ hakpaks/ custom.Tlk etc etc
I think there’d be a fair bit of preparatory time and effort required to ensure a seamless playthrough …
I would repeat everything KevL says.
Campaigns are designed to hold multiple modules, but you would have to rework two campaigns into a single campaign to work as a whole.
I will simply use the GA load module script then, to the start area of T&T and try to redirect with the MTT reload script and see if that launches the campaign. There is a module version of this, so loading into that instead may launch it with the intro, so I will tinker with that and see. Thanks Kev and Lance for your responses.
