(Solved) How to make the background transparent (TGA)

Hello,

I took a medium size portrait for a placable (64*128) from NWN. The area which surrounds the actual picture is black. Now I want to make this area transparent, so that only the actual picture is visible.

But how?

I messed around with paint.net, but I don’t figure out how I can fill the space with the “transparent color”.

Paint.net is very easy. Use the magic wand to select area to be transparent. If it “bleeds” into the area that you want to keep, you’ll need to use the “lasso” select and draw around the area to become transparent yourself. Once the area is selected, hit the delete key. Now the selected area is transparent. Save as 32 bit taga.
