Spell Improvements + Light Emitting Spells advice please!

Hello there!

After a long break away from gaming the current lockdown has seen me return to some old remembered favourites, Neverwinter Nights 2 being among them.

I want to include some of the most popular mods in my first run and the Neverwinter Vault has been a huge help in that so far (thanks to all for still maintaining this site!).

I have the GOG Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete (v1.23), not the Enhanced Edition, and I’m looking to install both Reeron’s Spell Improvements and Light Emitting Spells, but there is a clash with some NSS and NCS files between the two so at first sight they would seem to be incompatible.

Does anyone have suggestions as to how to get these to work together? I am aware that there are some merged packs out there but they include additional content I am not interested in, I just want the two spell ones to play nice together.

If I have to I’ll ditch Light Emitting Spells and just stick with the Spell Improvements, but I thought I’d ask here first on the off-chance that I could parasitically leech knowledge off all you long-term experts

Thanks in advance to anyone able to help.

Cheers,

Pete (aka Sir Kalthorine)

Hello, welcome.

NSS and NCS are script files, though as far as conflicts between varying versions, you only really care about NSS, which are the source files that can be read as text, NCS are compiled scripts ready to be executed, you generate them from the NSS which contain ‘main’ method (and I think StartingConditional but it’s only relevant to the DLG system).

At any rate, basically you need to have some small amount of scripting ability to merge variants of the same script and maintain some functionality. If you don’t, then maybe someone here can do the work for you if you provide all the files…

Try this it has both already combined. Kaedrin’s PrC + TCC + Spell Fixes + Tome of Battle + Races of Faerun + Light Emitting Spell Effects
