Q. Is there a way to code a check for whether NWN1 is installed into a NWN2 module startup?
:\ never say never but without hooking the engine i doubt it
I thought, maybe, try using a resource that’s exclusive to Nwn1 - but the 1 directories aren’t accessible
I can’t think of any way that would be remotely practical. You’d have to determine where the nwn1 directories were on the host pc, and be able to access them. I’m assuming this is for the Hordes of the Underdark remake somehow.
Theoretically you could code an xml based browser as a UI element and somehow run some code in that, access the registry to determine where nwn1 is installed… at which point we’re talking about malware type behavior… etc
