TLK-Edit

Tried to use tlkEdit on a Win 10 machine. It tells that it requires a java runtime. But it is already there!!! To be sure, I installed the latest version and restarted the computer. No avail.

So what now? Any ideas?

I’m interested to get the answer!
So far, I found that launching the tlkedit.jar file instead of the tlkedit?.exe works (the only difference is that you have to choose if the tlk file you want to open is nwn, nwn2 or witcher).

Thanks, works for me as well.

Sounds like a solution.

I’m running the .exe without issues.

I have a note that says “requires 32 bit java to be enabled in java control panel” but I think that happened automatically when it prompted me to install java.

In the Java control panel, I have both versions enabled in the Java tab.

Sounds good, but I don’t see nothing on the java-tab.

How does it look on your side?

When I press the button (“View” in English) I see this:
java

The 32-bit version is the second entry.

Great thanks, now I’ve an idea, what to look for.

It turns out, that TLK-Edit insist to use the 32-bit environment. Of course, the front page of Java-Home offered me a 64-bit version, so I had to dig a bit through the web site to find a 32 bit installer.

For now, the 32-bit runtime is the only installed Java. Don’t see any reason to have both versions available (for now …)
