Trouble adding portraits to a module via hakpak

Hey everyone.

As you can tell from the title, I can’t get custom portraits to show up in the toolset.

I’ve dug out the portraits.2da file with NWNExplorer and added my portraits to the list as per instructed by older forum posts, i.e having the files in the Portraits folder start with ‘po_’ and end with their size H/L/M/S/T and .tga, but not have those things in the portraits.2da file text. I then created a hakpak and added the portraits.2da file to it, and then imported this hakpak to the module.

I made sure to have portraits of various categories: human male non-plot, human female non-plot, elven male non-plot, human female plot-only. None of them appear in the toolset. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Are the portraits physically in a hak attached to the module?

I see you’re aware of the difference between the file name po_roger_h.tga and the 2da entry roger_ but it’s very easy to have too many or too few underscores.

The H portraits need to be exactly 256 x 512, L half that, and so on.

Try moving the portrait files into the override folder or add them to the hak file.

Holy hell do I feel like silly now. I don’t know what possessed me to think it was enough to just have the portraits.2da file in the hakpak while the portraits just sat in the portraits folder.

I just put the portraits in the hakpak and now it’s working perfectly. Thank you!
