Is there any way to scroll or page through a Project’s images without having to click, close and then click the next image?
There used to be but for some reason it changed. I personally preferred the slideshow method that was there before.

Multiple images lost the ability to scroll previous/next in a Drupal security update back in 2016 which fixed some javascript vulnerabilities. The fixes broke the Colorbox gallery overly and a replacement was never added.
