WalkWayPoints() problem

Having some difficulty trying to make some deer behave like wildlife. The idea is they need to run away from the player and not attack, and then return to their mobile animations after a threat has dissapeared. this all works fine until one takes damage and then the damaged deer just wont return to their waypoints no matter what i do. is this normal for the game or am i making it do this myself?
