I’m not much for the wondering around town trying to figure out what to only to find out that the door I need to go though i bugged, or transient is broken.
Or the worst for me anyways is to find I’s all fluff and no fighting.
Could anyone recommend a good solid Hack&Slash that has an ending not just a part where the maker has just lost interest and stopped part way though .
I just hate walking around town looking for grama’s brooch and stuff.
I don’t mind reading stuff that expands and develops the quests, But most of everything I read seems to be fluff . And always leaves me wondering where to go and what to do? lol
Oh and a rant here I know but why oh why make 10 npc’s in a tavern that say the same thing?
If you don’t mind playing as a Monk or Monk multiclass (the module lets you choose from different robes to fit your playstyle that upgrade), then I suggest Way of the Open Hand.
Try Swordflight One
I don’t think it falls under Hack & Slash, but it fits your other criteria. It is definitely well-polished and definitely has plenty of challenging combat.
If you like the story of the OC but not the actual way it was implemented you might try The Frozen North PW.
Drawbacks:
Level cap is 12th level.
It’s not entirely finished yet.
But it’s hours of combat and you can solo with the OC henchmen and some new ones. Follows the same story, but a reimagined experience. Low magic gear for the most part, although some good stuff can be found.
Harvest of Souls: A mix of RTS/kingdom building and a long story. Plenty of mobs wandering the maps you need to defend against. They become more trivial as you get better troops (or dragons, etc). Still need relics to fight your way through the planes, though.
Good vs Evil III isn’t really a story, though it’s based on the Lord of Blight series. Your army fights another and you try to win the battle by destroying their shrines around the map, then their Altar. I run NWNPlayer’s Good vs Evil server if you went to jump in. Choose Hero mode if you don’t want to command your troops to do everything.
