I’m an og player from the late 2000 to about 2011 on only one server, Sam’s Server - Menzoberranzan where I played Paige mostly and Lae’ Lalia Del A’rmgo. This game has been apart of my family since it first came out, and even my son played starting at age 13, back when my uncle (Unc) and and my mom (Ginasue/DM Star). Anyways, i’m building a mod for my son’s DnD group and NWNServer … it marks 10 years since i played NWN. so hey there hi there ho there!

Ginasue is your mom? WOW! I believe she had a website called The Kindred Spirit with a lot of Forgotten Realms lore and Dungeons and Dragons information on it. Menzoberranzan was going to be/or had been for a short while, part of ALFA - A Land Far Away as I recall. Faceless One played there too if my memory is correct.

she did indeed have that site… she did most of what she had planned and brought Sam’s and Dragon Island together - and i mean together - cause when i inherited the server, the minute the dm’s presented new areas/updated areas that she previously rejected, the physical server started crumbling and finally just … well… anywho nice to meet y’all. oh and OG = Ol’ Gamer… lol

played Startrek on a printout in the 70s … lunar lander on the graphics machine (an 8’ tall hulk hidden in a backroom)
i had to code pong b4 i could play pong. made a pacman game also… lol. my son, started playing when he was 13 - under awesome supervision of course… now he’s 27, i can’t EVEN think of arguing with him now a days// (now if Ginasue were still with us, THEY would be arguing…lol… and Unc and i would sit with blank faces like at a tennis match)

I have been around before Baldur’s Gate was released and I have all the games since. I was so excited for Neverwinter Nights since people could make their own adventures.

One of the first games I remember playing was Penguin Adventure on my brother’s Spectravideo MSX 728. This was the mid 80s, I believe. Friends had Commodore 64, but my brother wanted to learn programming so that’s why my parents bought that computer instead.
EDIT: The first game I ever remember buying for PC must have been Dark Forces II Jedi Knight. Great game, that one.

and invite y’all to come visit, explore, go ‘ooh and ahh’ (and its not ooc@) as we relaunch after a 12 year hiatus, Sam’s Server - Menzoberranzan VII on 08/25/2023 - We will be launching a campaign as well, and we will be tossing those Plot tokens out so visitors can explore safely. There;s a Active memorial people can write in for various players who opt in on memorializing or NPC’s there character.
There’s a whole brand new underdark and the city is aaaammmmmmmzing… so will the Spine… and yeah. thanks y’all
