On the project page there are 3 separate downloads that are all needed to get the full experience. One of these downloads is a set of essential fixes for one of the other downloads. While such an arrangement may be convenient for some who have already downloaded the file(s) that need fixing but surely it would be better to have a fully fixed version (maybe including all three downloads into one) to simplify downloading. As it stands, this arrangement makes it impossible for NIT to be used with modules that make use of this package and to get the same experience as the builder intended.
There are a small number of models/textures that fix certain issues in the main hak. They need to be incorporated into the main hak, overwriting the files already there. Which means there are a number of “are you sure you want to do this” type dialogues.
Yes but that could have unforeseen consequences as the dev folder isn’t really designed for that. It is really designed for fast development of new assets before (for example) placing them in a hak. If you are thinking of having NIT only place things there very temporarily, it could work safely (I think). But the obvious safest way would be to simply have the fixed version of the hak available to download.
I would appreciate that. I can’t count, how many fixes I made to tilesets (i.e. Atoms natural caverns). Normally it’s not easy to publish then separately from an own module.
I was thinking of using a Folder Map to move the Repairs to the dev folder, but this would have to be done by the user. Based on your offer, I think I will leave it alone for now.
I’ll give it to Monday and only if no objections raised will I bundle it up. My intention is to post it on the original project page, which is why I was asking.
